Good evening NJ NICA family!
When we started this week, the NJICL team was concerned that we may not race this weekend. Each day though, the weather trended slightly better, and we’re so grateful we were able to race, albeit on a slightly shortened course! Thank you everyone for your support and patience as the NJICL team made the necessary adjustments throughout the weekend that allowed us to race.
A huge thanks to everyone who stayed after the racing was finished to help break down the infield and clean up the course. We got the done in record time today, and it really was a testament to the cooperative spirit of our community!
We were thrilled to welcome special guests to our race this weekend. National NICA President Amanda Carey rode the GRiT pre-ride Saturday and took in the racing today, starting the girl’s wave and presenting medals to the middle school #njstrong podium finishing racers. NJ NICA foundation supporter Rich Carolan was in attendance taking in the sights, as was Chester Parks consultant & venue partner, Bill Foelsch. Chester Township Council President Michael Inganamort also greeted our community with kind words before the podium ceremony. We’re grateful they got to see “Jersey Style” NICA racing and are tremendously thankful for their support!
Special thanks to the Borough of Chester and Chester Township for their ongoing support of NJ NICA. We held our very first race in Chester back in 2017 when we were just over 100 students strong, and we love coming back each year!
For anyone looking for results, head over here. A big congratulations to every single student athlete who lined up today, whether you finished on the podium or finished your first ever race! We love seeing all of you racing, hanging out with your team, and cheering each other on!
